These Corning® hot plate/stirrers have a durable glass-ceramic 4 x 5 inch Pyroceram® top and offer superior performance and reliability in a low profile, space-saving design. They offer closed-loop stirring for consistent and accurate speed and to get the job done quickly, efficiently, and safely. Advanced insulation technology conserves energy by keeping heat safely at the top where it belongs. Effective two-piece casting design deflects spills from electronics, which are enclosed for improved performance and durability. Heating is microprocessor controlled and passes FCC regulations for Electromagnetic Interference (EMI). Hot top indicator light blinks a warning if the top is too hot to touch (>140°F) - even when the unit is turned off. Built-in holder accommodates optional 5/16" x 12" stainless steel support rod (No. 400084). 1 x 3/8 inch stir bar (No. 401435) included with each stirrer.
