Box furnaces provide uniform heat distribution through individual heating elements on all sides of chamber. An insulated vestibule and tight-fitting insulated door plug provide excellent temperature uniformity by minimizing heat loss around the furnace chamber opening. The door conveniently opens to horizontal position to serve as chamber loading surface. A spring-loaded mechanism holds the door securely shut. A sight glass area allows convenient observation of the heated sample when furnace is in operation. Over-temperature protection feature on controller 30783-004 protects furnace and sample if primary control circuit fails. Power to furnace is shut off if high limit is reached. Maximum temperature is 1200°C. For 208/240V, 50/60Hz. The control console is fully wired and includes advanced microprocessor-based digital control, a solid-state power module, ON/OFF circuit breaker and thermocouple input jack. The controller includes microprocessor-based PID control (proportional, integral, derivative), single segment, single setpoint, one ramp to setpoint. Built-in adjustable high limit overtemperature protection. The LED display can simultaneous the actual temperature vs. setpoint and can be configured to display temperature in either °C or °F.
