Straub Model 4-E interchangeable grinding units can be quickly detached, making it desirable to keep more than one grinding unit where repetitive samples of different material are to be ground. Grinding unit construction is sturdy cast iron, heavily coated for food handling. Grinding unit can be removed and disassembled for cleaning without the use of tools. Grinding plates are made of hard iron alloy designed for clog resistance and long life. Plate clearance easily adjusted by hand to change mesh. Rigid cast aluminum base and bearing for minimum weight. 3- Point rubber pads for stability. Low current requirement eliminates need for special wiring. Choice of 4-B Plates for fine grinding or 4-CS Plates for coarse grinding. Choice of Tooth Feed for dry grinding or Worm Feed for wet or oily grinding. Supplied with a 1/3 HP motor with 89-RPM output speed that is connected through a gear box and safety link coupling to the grinding unit. 3 wire electrical cord (8 ft) with inline switch & grounding plug. Capacity is 15-40 lbs./hr. with fineness of 75-100 mesh. Grinding plates are 4 diameter, weight of entire mill is 71 lbs., height is 13, base is 8-1/2 x 15.
